City of Flowery Branch

Summary: This Hall County city on the banks of Lake Lanier projected that $279,800 of its $4.3 million 2005 budget would have to come from property tax dollars. However, the City Council has adopted a millage rate of 2.845, up from 1.810 of last year.

The mathematically-incorrect rate is expected to bring in at least $8,859 more than is necessary to fully fund this year's budget.

The mathematically-correct millage rate is 2.758.

The owner of a $150,000** home in Flowery Branch will pay $170.00 in property taxes, approximately $5.24 more than his/her fair share to fund the cost of city government this year.
