City of Lawrenceville

Summary: The county seat of Gwinnett budgeted for $1,800,000 in property tax dollars to fund its 2005 budget. However, the City Council adopted a millage rate of 2.41 which is expected to bring in at least $317,817 more than is necessary to fully fund this year's budget.

The adopted millage is a "rolled back" rate calculated according to the Taxpayers Bill of Rights.

The mathematically-calculated millage rate is 2.048

The owner of a $150,000* home in Lawrenceville will pay $144.60 in city property taxes, $21.72 more than his/her fair share to fund the cost of city government this year.
