City of Snellville
Gwinnett County

The City of Snellville's $10.69 million 2005-2006 budget will require $2,300,000 in property taxes to be fully funded.  The millage rate required to produce the needed tax revenue is 3.369. The City Council instead adopted a mathematically-incorrect rate of 3.65, the same rate as the previous year. The arbitrarily-high millage will result in a "paper" over-collection of $191,519.24.

The owner of a $150,000** home in Snellville will pay $219 in city property taxes, $16.86 more than his/her fair share to fund the cost of government this year.
